Marblehead Lobsters

There is nothing quite as delectable as a hot boiled lobster, served with warm drawn butter, along with a side of potato chips, corn on the cob, a few pickles and maybe a cup of clam chowder. When a lobster is cooked, the shell turns bright red. It is so colorful that when you bring a platter of these crimson divine delights to the table everybody swoons.

These delicious crustaceans are synonymous with Marblehead and summer fun. Colorful lobster pots are everywhere along the seacoast and the treasures that they hold are eventually served up in a variety of dishes all over town.

There are lobster rolls, lobster thermidor, lobster bisque, lobster salad, lobster newberg, lobster pie, lobster mac and cheese and many other delicious recipes to make your mouth water.

For every two million lobsters, however, there is only one very illusive “Blue Lobster” so it is very rare indeed.

For you lovers of the “Blue” and the “Red” lobsters too, I have created a couple of paintings using each color. We will add the “Marblehead Lobsters” to our ever popular “Marblehead Minis” in the form of a gallery wrapped canvas. They are also available as a matted paper print, a really fun throw pillow, a Marblehead Micro canvas, sensational note cards and a possible Christmas ornament, so stay tuned for that in the fall.
